I've helped hundreds and hundreds of students earn top scores on the SSAT over decades as a tutor. I am so glad to have finally found this book (thank you to a wonderful 8th grade student just last year!) that does provide practice tests which are more like the real thing than any other I've found -- and just right for my students who have mastered all the very most advanced reading comp techniques for this specific test, increased vocabulary enormously, and learned to very carefully go through the test to avoid errors. I ask only these students to use this book. It is not for beginners at all. Warm up with easier books from other companies. Graduate to this book and the official guide.
My daughter felt this book prepared her for the SSATs very well. The questions are realistic, and though the math questions were harder than those on the actual test, she felt that was good preparation.
I ordered this book for my daughter to study the second go round of the SSAT. The questions in this book are closer and more realistic to the questions on the actual test. She has studied out of numerous of books, the original ssat book doesn't even compare to this one!! This is a great book!

Awesome book. This is harder than the other SSAT books and gives students a chance to really challenge themselves, so come test day, the real test seems easier. Our students love it!

Excellent and challenging
Questions are much harder/higher level than actual test questions - had another book to compare and later the exam gave us a good idea that this was the wrong book to get. Also number of questions for the SSAT are much lower than other available resources.
