This book is truly a great book, possibly the best book ever written, and I say this objectively, in spite of the fact that I wrote the book. But I would have said exactly the same thing if I wasn't the author, because I'm a very fair-minded dog.There is only one other book I know of written by a dog which is also totally excellent, "Racing in the Rain." But that's a novel, and this is an instructional manual for puppies, so it's apples and oranges, or maybe steak and chicken, because I wouldn't be that interested in eating either an apple or an orange, but I'm definitely interested in a steak. Do you happen to have one I could eat right now?
An amusing, light hearted story. It reminded me of all the fun and love a dog brings to humans. The pace is quick and the book is finished too soon.

Fun read; even more so when you have a bulldog named Rufus who seems to share most of the same wisdom! There is just something about a bulldog!
I was enjoying this book, until I got to the name calling, of a human being. Name calling is not cool. It's mean spirited; it doesn't initiate any conversations; there's no discussions; it's not substantiated. I would like to know, since it's not quite clear, if the authors themselves have a background or education in animal behavior - and if not, then why should we take a non-expert's "opinion" over another's?Dogs teach us important lessons abut having love for one another. Have these authors not learned anything from their dogs? I'm thinking not.
This is a very funny book. You may think you have read all the amusing dog books available but this is a worthy addition. The dog's perspective is a hoot.
If you have been baffled by any element of dog behavior-- bicycle chasing, cat herding, frisbee retention-- all is explained in simple and highly amusing terms. Rufus is deep and will enrich your life even if you are not currently in a canine relationship.
